The telecommunications of one of the world’s largest petro chemical complex entrusted to SMi
SMi signed in 2013 its first contract in Saudi Arabia in the field of telecommunications. The purpose of this contract is to deliver a turnkey solution of a fully developed and working telecommunication system that will meet the operational requirements of KJO On-Shore and Off-Shore network.
In operation since 2001, KJO is a petro chemical joint venture which includes KOC, the Kuwaiti’s government national oil company and the largest oil company in the world, Aramco.
SMi’s mandate is to implement a digital transmission system OTN (Open Transport Network) to support KJO’s critical operations using state of the art fiber optic transmission technology. The transmission system based on TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) shall carry all channels of hybrid service (mixed circuit switching and Packet Switching, Digital and Analogue) for voice, data, LAN and video communications in order to guarantee independent and consistent communication between all applications during operation. This integrated system will give KJO a reliable and 24/7 non-stop operational network.
This KJO project was developed as a design / build concept and is carrying out according to the client’s expectations.
The SMi experts innovate once again with this major project in Saudi Arabia by realizing this state of the art integrated telecommunication system.
